Eating Near Kew Gardens: Before or After Your Visit

Fresh pastries on ceramic plates, including a cinnamon swirl, pain au chocolat, a chocolate chunk cookie and a raisin swirl, with a latte and a matcha latte.

Most visits to Kew Gardens start and finish in the same place: Kew Gardens station. Fable is on Station Approach, right by the platform exit, which makes it an easy stop on either side of a day among the glasshouses.

Here's how to fit us into your visit, whichever end of the day you're working with.

Before You Go In

Brunch runs every day from 8am to 3pm, so there's time to eat properly before you set off. The Full Fable or Steak & Eggs will carry you through a long walk; Shakshuka or Turkish Eggs are a little lighter but still a proper meal. Short on time? A flat white and something from the pastry case is quicker, and brunch is walk-in only, so there's nothing to plan ahead.

At brunch, orders are taken at the counter, so you can grab a table, order and be on your way whenever you're ready. Let the team know about any allergies or intolerances when you order.

Plan your day
Morning
Brunch from 8am, every day. Walk in, no booking needed.
Afternoon
Coffee, matcha, hot chocolate and whatever's left in the pastry case.
Evening
Sharing plates, cocktails and wine from 5pm, Wednesday to Sunday. Bookable by phone.

Weekends or Midweek

Kew is at its busiest at weekends, in the Gardens and on Station Approach alike, so on a Saturday or Sunday the quieter windows for brunch are early in the morning or once the lunchtime rush has passed. If your plans are flexible, a weekday visit means a calmer breakfast before you head through the gates.

Coming as a Family

Bringing children? There's a kids' brunch menu with Classic Beans on Toast, Little Egg on Toast and The Mini Fable, a smaller version of The Full Fable, plus a babyccino for little ones while the adults have their coffee.

After a Long Walk

Heading back towards the station later on? From Wednesday to Sunday the evening menu starts at 5pm, with sharing plates, a full cocktail list and a short wine list. Wednesday to Friday, sharing plates are also served at lunch from 12 to 3pm, which suits a midweek visit.
