Christmas Together at Fable

A candlelit table at Fable set with wine glasses, a bottle of wine and sharing plates, in front of shelves of wine bottles.

December has a way of filling up fast. Between the shopping, the travelling and the long list of people to see, the best moments are usually the simple ones: a proper breakfast with family, a hot drink with an old friend, or a long dinner where nobody is in a hurry to leave.

That's what Fable is for this time of year. Here's how to make the most of it, whatever the plan.

A Slow Christmas Brunch

When the family is home, brunch is the easiest meal to get everyone round one table. The Full Fable covers the hungriest, the Buttermilk Pancakes with vanilla mascarpone and berry compote are made for sharing, and the kids' menu has The Mini Fable for younger guests, with a babyccino on the side. Brunch is walk-in, served from 8am, until 3pm Monday to Saturday and 2pm on Sundays.

Something Warm on a Cold Day

Coming in from a winter walk or a morning of present shopping? A Hot Chocolate with cream and marshmallows is hard to beat, and a Chai Latte brings a little warming spice. Pair either with something from the pastry case and take the weight off for a while. Well-behaved dogs are welcome during the day, so nobody has to stay at home.

Dinner With the People You've Missed

Christmas is when old friends are back in town and colleagues finally make it out together. Our evening menu is built for that kind of table: small plates like the Chilli & Garlic Prawns, Honey Chorizo and Burrata to pass around, and market plates, a main with two sides for £18, for anyone who wants their own plate. Finish with the Passionfruit & White Chocolate Cheesecake or the Chocolate Coconut Torte.

To raise a glass, there's Zarlino Prosecco by the glass or bottle, Henri Ehrhart Crémant, and an English sparkling from Hattingley Valley. Prefer a cocktail? We'll have Christmas cocktail specials on through the festive season, alongside favourites like the Espresso Martini and The Fable, our house cocktail of amaretto, Frangelico, lemon and egg white.

Planning a Bigger Get-Together

It's worth booking ahead in December: email us at hello@meetatfable.com to reserve a table. Dinner runs from 5pm Wednesday to Saturday, and from 2pm on Sundays. For a Christmas party or a private celebration, get in touch and we'll talk through availability, menus and what works for your group. If you're planning a visit around the bank holidays, give us a ring first to check times.

However you spend it, we'd love to see you on Station Approach this Christmas.
